Will the New Jerusalem Physically Land on Earth?
In this episode of Bible Prophecy Answers, we tackle a key end-times question: Will the New Jerusalem actually descend and be set down on the earth—at the site of present-day Jerusalem? Walking through major prophetic passages in Isaiah, we explore how the Old Testament anticipates the radiant glory, worldwide gathering, and unique light source that closely parallels John’s New Jerusalem in Revelation.
Key Prophecies Explored in Isaiah
We examine Isaiah 60:1–4, 14 and Isaiah 60:19–20, highlighting themes of God’s glory rising over Zion, nations coming to the light, and a future where the Lord Himself becomes an everlasting light—imagery that sounds strikingly like the New Jerusalem.
Old Jerusalem to New Jerusalem: Same Location?
We also consider Isaiah 52:1–2 as a possible clue that the transformation from the old city to the new involves the same geographic location, connecting this idea with themes echoed in Zechariah 14.
