In this lecture, progressive dispensational theologian Craig Blaising explains why God works with Israel and the church at the same time. (See also my five part podcast series on this very topic below.) Blaising also gives an excellent explanation on the nature and relationship between Israel and the church. While Blaising maintains his pretribulationism, his progressive dispensationalism clearly undermines (and he would acknowledge this) the traditional foundational argument for pretribulationism: that God does not work with Israel and the church at the same time.
Incidentally, there are many progressive dispensational believers becoming prewrath, because the theological obstacle that God does not work with Israel and the church at the same time has been removed for them. (It is common for me to receive emails from young seminarians who attend dispensational schools and pastors who attended those schools as well.)
So Blaising responds to classical dispensationalism, but he also responds to covenant theology / supersessionism in this lecture.
